For a nine-page source, enter 1-4, 6-9 to retain only source page 5. The preview must report eight removed and one kept. The output is a valid one-page PDF whose only page corresponds to source page 5. Entering 1-9 instead produces NO_PAGES_LEFT before copying, because a PDFRemove result must contain at least one page and the tool never creates an empty placeholder silently.
Verify the sole retained page
Open source page 5 and output page 1 side by side. Compare visible content, orientation, crop and every relevant link, annotation or form control. Keeping one page does not isolate shared semantics or certify that hidden document-level information was removed.
The result is a new PDF
PDFRemove does not edit the source container in place. It creates a blank PDF, copies the retained page objects in their original order and serializes a separate download. Document metadata, outlines, page labels, embedded files, portfolios, scripts, optional layers, tagged structure, PDF/A or PDF/X claims, usage rights, encryption, incremental revisions and digital signatures may not carry across. Forms, links, annotations, fonts and accessibility relationships can rely on document-level resources. Keep the source and never call the output signed, certified, archival, compliant or evidentiary merely because its visible pages look correct.
